Details: What it is This is a metal tripod-style joint component with a splined center hub and three evenly spaced rounded roller bearings. It is precision-machined from hardened steel and designed as part of a rotating drivetrain assembly. What it does: A tripod bearings transfers rotational power from the transmission to the driveshaft while allowing the driveshaft to move in and out and change angles during suspension movement. Its roller bearings help the joint move smoothly with less friction and vibration. Where it is: The tripod bearing located inside the inner CV joint, directly where the front driveshaft connects to the transmission.
